Colleges and IB

Colleges and universities in the U.S. set their own policies regarding admission and placement within academic levels. Students should carefully investigate individual colleges based on student interests, needs, goals, the institution's policies and practices, and so on. Most colleges have websites that give a fairly reasonable overview of their programs and other offerings. They welcome inquiries and will be able to provide additional materials specific to the student's requests.

Many colleges and universities in the United States recognize the IB program and give credit or advanced placement to students who attain the IB diploma. A sizeable number also give credit to students who received IB certificates for courses. The student should directly address these issues with the college.
